You can capture the IV meds from the hospital on the 14-day assessment, but since the presumption of coverage does not apply, the record must reflect a daily skilled service for days billed or Part A can't be billed for the stay.

See, you can if you set your ARD right.  The lookback period for IV meds  is 14 days so if you set the 14 day ARD right at times you can capture iv meds received in the hospital.  Example, if a resident received IV med on 1/11/04, was admitted to your facility on 1/13/04.  You can set your 14 day ARD for day 11 (1/23/04) or day 12 (1/24/04) and still capture the IV meds.
