CMS had an open door forum SNF/LONG TERMCARE on 1-20-04.You could go to D.C.or
participate by phone.You can access a recording of the presentation for 3 days after
1-20-04.I just finished listening to it,lasted almost 2 hours.Interesting issues in
longterm care,the move to change the denial letter format by 10-04.The recommended
forum is currently available on line,the new quality initiative which will be on line
1-22 for each facility,etc,etc.You can listen by calling 1-800-642-1687 conf i.d.
#4381995.It is worth listening to.There will be another conf Feb 24th at 4p.m. eastern
time.These forum are the way CMS will make us aware of what is new and answer
questions and direct us to the resources that appear to be available to us.I am
impressed with this new approach.CMS seemed more than willing to help us providers
with our issues.
