We have a large bird aviary, a cat named molly who lives at our facility full time(even has her own room), and many folks bring their dogs around to the resident they know who love animals. We are considered an Eden Facility because of all our animals. There is a handbook just for Eden facilities due to the fact we have strict guidelines for those who bring in animals from home. There must be information out there for Eden Facilities as we have a couple here in Western N.C. Annette

I was at a facility in New Mexico, and we had llama's and goats, so I don't see any problem with large dogs.  They need to be vacinated, and the owner must be able to control them, either verbally or on a leash.  They DO need to be vaccinated, and you need to verify that every year.  Usually, the pet group that provides them ( if you have such a thing) will provide you a certificate stating that the animals must be shown to have been vaccinated for the year, and the animal is known to not bite, or attack.

Subject: Pet Therapy

Does anyone have a policy on Pet Therapy they are willing to share.  I have no written policy regarding visiting pets, ie: especially large pets, a St Bernard or friendly large dogs.  I need some help from the group on this issue.
