Subject: Re: Pet Therapy
Louise,
I can check at work tomorrow about a pet
policy. We have had several dogs and it hasn't been a piece of cake. They need
to be walked, let in and out, fed, etc. The best way that has worked for
us which we are doing at the present time is one of the employees has a black
cocker spaniel that comes in with her in the morning and leaves with her in
the afternoon and she assumes the responsibility of getting the dog in
and out through out the day. We also have cockatiel's in cages (loud call)
doves in cages ( an ok species) finches in cages (quiet chirp) love birds
in cages, (another ok species) and a cat that has settled in nicely that
we got as a small kitten. Cats are easier than dogs in my opinion.
Geez! some residents feel that animals are dirty and don't want to be
anywhere near them--thank heavens that dogs and cats sense this and will
usually steer clear of those residents. If you send me a fax # I can fax it to
you tomorrow or Monday and good luck with what ever you choose. Sincerely,
Mary Wright

Subject: Pet Therapy
Does anyone have a policy on Pet Therapy they are willing
to share. I have no written policy regarding visiting pets, ie:
especially large pets, a St Bernard or friendly large dogs. I need
some help from the group on this
issue.
