Hi.  This is the blending (projecting) rule:
Rehab Medium category can be reached by actually delivering 0 minutes but projecting in Section T at least 240 min/8 days.
Rehab High category can be reached by actually delivering 65 minutes and projecting in Section T at least 520 min/8 days.
Both Rehab Very High and Ultra High require the actual delivery of the required services/minutes/days.

My new Therapy Manager has questioned why we would need to use grace days 6 through 8 if he wasn't planning on attaining an RU or RV RUG level.
Can anyone explain?
I didn't really phrase my question correctly.
He doesn't understand why you would have a need to utilize grace days 6-8, feeling that projection alone gives the RUG level.
Isn't there a minimum number of minutes to have been given by the 5 day Assessment, in conjunction with the projection, which gives the RUG level? For example, the higher the number of minutes ALREADY given, in conjunction with a good projection, would yield a higher RUG level?
Is this correct?
