Yes and No.  See chapter 6 of the MDS manual for clarification for the low, medium, and high rugs scoring.  The resident does not have to been seen 5 days, though, in order to obtain these rugs score.  It is ok to project them into these.

I didn't really phrase my question correctly.

He doesn't understand why you would have a need to utilize grace days 6-8, feeling that projection alone gives the RUG level.

Isn't there a minimum number of minutes to have been given by the 5 day Assessment, in conjunction with the projection, which gives the RUG level? For example, the higher the number of minutes ALREADY given, in conjunction with a good projection, would yield a higher RUG level?

Is this correct?
