The MC 5 day does not impact your OBRA schedule.  You will still need to do your annual assessment when it is due.

Subject: Type of Review needed?

I have confused myself and need some clarification on what type of review to do now.

I have a resident that went to the hospital on 12/2 and returned on 12/5, We skilled him for medication adjustment and Behavior Management. We did a Medicare 5 day  on 12/9, we did not do a sign change assessment. He was no longer skilled around 12/14 so his Medicare was cut. What I need to know is, do we have to do an annual assessment in Jan or do we start the schedule over with the Medicare 5 day assessment?. If he had not been skilled for those few days he would be due his annual review.
