skin tears

I was just wondering how  your skin team are coding skin tears as the heal related to injury.      Currently, where I work they are coding skin tear initially but as the healing process continues the following week upon assessment their writing scabs. If this is correct then, you have to code it in section M1, and if so, does that effect the quality measures and / or quality indicators for the facility.
