Joe,  the ratio for groups is 4:1.  You can take credit as log as each involved resident receives their  individualized program, and each program lasted for a minimum of 15 minutes.  Doing a ball toss or another activity that involves muscle movement is not considered a planned systematic program individualized to a resident. needs.  These excercise groups are an adjunct to a resident's restorativeprogram, if they have one, and are a good thing to do; but the excercise activity does not take the place of a ROM restorative program. Can you run an AROM group (if you ran the group of 4 for 30 minutes and you had 2 care givers - all would get 15 minutes of service but we would be running it in a group setting for the socialization aspect.)  I know that you can claim credit for dining groups as long as everyone gets 15 minutes but I am not sure if they have ever said yeah or nay to exercise groups.  Just curious.
