Hi Holly. Check
your state regs. For instance, in Oregon, we have an OAR (Oregon
Administrative Rule) that states "A licensed nurse shall develop a preliminary
resident care plan within 24 hours of admission."

I was asked a question today that I really should
know the answer to, but discover I do not. What is the regulation
addressing the initial plan of care; ie. after admission, how long does
the facility have to get the initial care plan on the chart. I found the reg on
comprehensive care plan, but cannot find anything specific to an admission care
plan.
Is there an actual time frame, or is it one of
those things that's open to interpretation?
Thank you in advance.
Holly
