There are several goals you could consider:

  1. The resident will accept food and fluids as able and/or as desired
  2. The resident’s mouth will remain moist
  3. The resident will accept favorite foods when offered as desired

Subject: dietary cp for terminal dx

I have a resident with lung Ca with mets to brain/bone.  He eats practically nothing.  What can I use for a goal r/t his poor intake?  Would giving a wt. range be appropriate?  I just cannot think at 2:30 Fri. afternoon, the 13th at that.  Thanks.

Michelle
