Subject: STARTING MEDICARE LATE?
Importance: High

Had a hard time trying to figure what the subject should be.??
I have a resident who has been here on the skilled unit for almost 30 days
now. She came to us without insurance. I did a 14 day omra. She has since
applied for Medicare disability. If and when the Medicare is approved,
will it go back to day of admit and then we can get paid?
What do I do with assessments start now with 5 day? What would the ARD be ?
Do I go back and do a correction of my Omra and make it Medicare also?
It is almost 30 days and time for a 30 day Medicare if I am going to do
this. Never had this situation before
can someone help clarify this for me.? Thanks Karen.
