Actually we use med aides and they have the lowest medication errors for our facility compared to the RN’s and LPN’s. I was sceptic at first but you’d be surprised how you survived without them.

That is really scarey.......I think there are enough med errors with nurses passing meds, imagine if cnas were doing it. We are currently inservicing all of our floor nurses on med pass d/t our survey where we had a 9% med error rate. In the state of Ohio it has to be less than 5%. It truely is a tactic for staffing purposes, and not foe the benefit of our resident's.
