we do not have nitro drips as they require frequent monitoring
our IV list is discussed with the medical director and the decision is made by him
the facility determines what IVs can be given safely and appropriately

Subject: Nitro drip in NH question ,need info thanks
Dear Listmates:
I have 3 questions. Please:
1} Does any one know where I can get a list of IV meds used in Nursing homes?
2} Is a nitro drip used in NHs for residents or only hospital Pts.?
3} How many of you have seen this in your homes? Is it legal? It is safe?
I don't think so, needs closed monitoring BP, etc., I would like to hear what you have to say on this matter.
Thank you.
my fax is 305-633-7593
Sincerely, BestLittleNurse
