Thanks again, Corey.
And it just keeps getting better. The DON handed
her resignation Thursday; it was announced yesterday. She actually told me
Thursday that she was going to, and said, "I know that one of the biggest
reasons you are leaving is because of me. Perhaps you won't need to leave
now." So, I really think they just didn't even try to hire someone to
replace me, thinking that I would change my mind. Things are just crazy
now. The management company resigned a couple of weeks ago. The DON has
resigned. I think the administrator's days are probably numbered. And I
spent an hour on the phone Friday with county council trying to talk me into
staying. My husband won't even discuss it with me.
I know what I need to do for me and my
family. The new facility is so much closer to home. And I can really
see the next few months being truly horrible at JFH. It's hard to leave when
there is so much chaos and turmoil. But, I know that I did not create it,
and just because I can do the job doesn't necessarily mean that I
should.
Like I said, I hope these new girls will utilize
the resources that I am lining up for them. And hopefully, county council will
listen to me and find an experienced RN who will come and lead the LPNs in the
office.

You know, Holly, I wish I could add up all the emails,
both thru [EMAIL PROTECTED] and private, and
print them out, chronologically. We could then print them out, and send
them to every DON and administrator out there. Think anybody would see
themselves? It's as if the SNF is the embodiment of the old fiefdom in
Europe, where the man on top seemed to perceive himself as G-d, and able to
order anything. Of course, the expectation never quite met the actual
product.
Good luck. Hope the next SNF realizes the value
they're getting.

Topic)
Hi, Y'all
Just wanted to give some updates on me and my nephew.
1st of all, Jacob is doing really well, adjusting to his spica cast. My
SIL said that at least the cast makes containment much easier right now. She
can just set him down in the middle of the living room, and he can't go
anywhere. (Not that she can stand to even put him down for more than a
few minutes right now) The doctors here are being really
supportive and giving her and my brother lots of info and assistance as far
as the O.I. goes.
2nd.... y'all know that next Friday is my last day. Well, this evening,
the DON called as soon as I got in the door, to let me know what is going
on. They have been unable to hire anyone for my position. (Quelle
surprise) So, 2 LPNs who have NO EXPERIENCE OR EXPOSURE TO MDS
EVER are going to be taking over for me. I am to spend next week
training them. You may recall, this is the same DON who told me very
snottily, that she didn't think she would have any trouble at all replacing
me. Oh Boy!!
Well, I will be giving them the cmdg address, and hope they have sense
enough to use it.
Rotsa Ruck.
