I had 27, and the other MDS Medicare nurse handled about 20.  We were working on Saturdays to keep up.  It's why I'm not there anymore.  Couldn't handle taking on call and being expected to come in a work the floor whenever a nurse called off when I was on call, and work 50 hours a week to do MDS too.

I hope that you don't have many medicare resident's. With about 30 with the average stay of 21 days, I have to work about 50 hours per week to keep up.  My resident's seem to stay long enough to require care plans.
