The d/c prior to completion of initial assessment refers to the OBRA admission assessment. You can still complete a 5 day PPS  with the projected minutes, then D/C prior to completion tracking.

Wouldn't this be coded discharged before assessment completed and you would have to accept the default rate if resident wasn' there to complete the 5 day?

I have a lady that was admitted 3-1-03 with orders to eval and treat, PT/OT.  Therapies evaled but she left before a treatment was given.  Do I still predict minutes since they did eval. or not?
