I would say that if you never received admission orders, then she was not ever your patient and would not count day of admission til 12:05am. remember then too that admitted from is not going to be acute care hospital since she apparently was not admitted again, right? I was thinking more "other" and also you would have a ER visit for section p too. Her dx was hip fx. However, when she was transferred off stretcher, she was noted to have a large amt or rectal bleeding. The charge nurse called MD who ordered her sent to the ER. Was NOT admitted back into hospital. She came back to us @ 12:05 am. Are we correct in thinking that the admit day was the day she came back into facility @ 12:05am? She actually left facility on the same stretcher that she came in on.... The ambulance crew never left the parking lot. /---------------------------------------------------------- The Case Mix Discussion Group is a free service of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators "Committed to the Assessment Professional" Be sure to visit the AANAC website.
