First, the fifteen minuts does NOT have to occur all at one time. Page 3-194 states "The 15 minutes of time in a day may be totaled over across 24 hours (e.g., 10 minutes on the day shift plus 5 minutes on the evening shift)." I ask my CNAs to total their time on their shift and enter that information (the total time) on the flowsheet. Second, ROM incidental to AM/PM care CANNOT be counted. Page 3-194 states"Active or passive movement by a resident that is incidental to dressing, bathing, etc. does not count as part of a formal restorative care program. For inclusion in theis section, active or passive range of motion must e a component of an individualized program with measurable objectives and periodic evaluation delivered by staff specifically trained in the procedures." Thirdly, simply monitoring a transfer is not a restorative program, that is supervision of an ADL. According to page 3/193 Transfer "Activities used to imporve or maintain the resident's self-performance in moving between surfaces or planes either with or without assistive devices." ----- Original Message ----- From: "June Brunelle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "aanac" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, March 14, 2004 6:27 AM Subject: restorative aide
