For a stage 3 or 4 decub there only has to be one site to be considered skilled care under Med A as long as the tx meets the guidelines. You don't need to cut them.

Two have healed leaving only one stage 4 ulcer. Am I correct to say the resident only has ulcer on one body site even if stage 4 so no longer meets skilled criteria and must be cut from Medicare? Thanks for any help. /---------------------------------------------------------- The Case Mix Discussion Group is a free service of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators "Committed to the Assessment Professional" Be sure to visit the AANAC website.
