Hi group. I have a lady who was admitted to facility on Med A. She was in the facility for 7 days and left on 2/9/04(day 8) by ambulance to be admitted to the hospital for chest pain r/o MI. She is a new stroke--reason for original admission. She came back on 2/11/04 to continue her therapy for the stroke. Question is: I know she continues on Med A but the billing office is questioning how to bill Medicare since she was gone for 2 midnights. Any thoughts on this? I'm not very familiar with alot of the billing aspects of med A. Thanks very much. Also, what about the ambulance ride? Do we have to pay for that? Isn't there a list somewhere of things that the snf is not responsible for when a resident is on Med A? Terri
