Tell her to refer to any fundamentals of nursing text. We use Perry and Potter. But
what you won't find anywhere is how often to change the urinary collection bag.
Do most of the facilities have policies and procedures for nursing care? Our general
policy states that we use Perry and Potter for all nursing skills, and we purchase new
texts for the unit about every two years (or when there is a new edition). (the
educators have to see what has been updated and inservice the staff).
