Grace days should be driven by 1. the needs of the resident and 2. the financial need of the facility to take credit for the level of therapy resources being used to provide medically necessary services. Routine use of the Grace days because therapy is not provided over the weekend is problematic and reflects both staff focused and finacially focused care. It is important that therapy be available over weekends for those rtesidents whose level of care justifies a higher RUG (RV, RU).

Subject: projection of minutes

What are the implications of consistley using grace days on the five day for ultra high since you can't project minutes? ( P/T and O/T do not work weekends) this is what I was told that is why they project on every five day mds.
thanks
