2/1 would be when skilled services started again but they would not get another 100 days since they did not have a 60 day break in services. 12/10 to 2/1 is only 52 days. You use the remainder of the previous 100 days, i.e. if they used 37 skilled days up to 12/10, they would only have 63 days remaining now since they had another 3 day qualifying stay.

The day of Admission into the hospital would be the day that 'skilled' services began. Skilled serviced were d/c'd 12/10/03 was admitted to the hospital 2/1/04 and returned to us 3/8/04. Our billing office has advised me that the 2/1/04 date is the one to be used as returning to skilled services. I have never run into this before and wanted to check. It is a matter of having another 100 days or not. Appreciate feed back. /---------------------------------------------------------- The Case Mix Discussion Group is a free service of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators "Committed to the Assessment Professional" Be sure to visit the AANAC website.
