Title: Message
We have been doing this for the past year or so and we have not had any problems with survey (we are in WA state). Here is our policy and med times. I tried to send it as an attachment but it was too large. I will copy and paste it below for you. Good luck, it does make it much easier on the patients and the staff, especially those in our Gentle Care wing. Those residents are allowed to sleep in if that is their preference and we try to be more flexible in all areas, including med passes.

Subject: dementia unit med pass

After reviewing the policies for our dementia unit, we were wondering /considering changing times of our med administration (to accommodate our residents better.) Does anyone have any guidelines for this? We were thinking about just making times be AM, PM, HS, etc, rather than 8:00/ 12:00, etc. Have there been any State survey concerns re: this? PJ, RN
