How long do you all keep Medicare residents who are fresh stroke victims? Our Medicare nurse keeps them for approx. 2 weeks and then discharges them. We have a new Social Worker who has been in LTC for sometime. She is trying to tell the Medicare nurse that you can gradually take residents off rehab then they will be covered through nursing. The Social Worker better have bona fide SKILLED nursing needs in mind.
