If it is an IV fluid w/a medication, such as 50cc D5W w/1 GM Ancef, you would capture it in both sections.

We had been counting these under Dietary and Section P (example: D5 1/2 with Potassium would get coded under both - or so I thought). Could someone steer me in the right direction and thanks in advance. /---------------------------------------------------------- The Case Mix Discussion Group is a free service of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators "Committed to the Assessment Professional" Be sure to visit the AANAC website.
