Hi, Our system is simple. We have red tags on Medicare A charts requiring
documentation daily and blue tags on the charts for any q shift
documentation needed. The tags are right next to their name and room number on
the chart. There is a calendar at the nurses station that has listed what
shift documents on medicare A daily. It never changes. Red tags are put on
the chart by the unit manager and only removed by the unit manager when
no longer Med A covered. In front of the MAR are a list of Medicare A for
each hall in case they need it. Blue tags can be put on the chart by the charge
nurse when they identify something that needs to be watched q shift.
Antibiotics, falls, etc. UMs check 24 hour sheets daily and catch anything that
might be missed for blue tags. We use tape for tags. Works well for us. Our
nurses look in the chart carousel and know at a glance who is
tagged.
