If she had medicare a days left when she went to the hospital, then she qualifies to continue with what days she has left. She does not qualify for a new 100 day benefit period, but can pick up on what days she has left (she had at least a 3 day hospital stay).

Your patient was off Medicare for greater than 30 days but had a 3-day qualifying (check on this to make sure the time in the hospital was as an inpatient) hospital stay within 60 days. If she is now back with orders and skilling services then she is eligible to use any remaining days she has from the prior benefit period.
