I am
also hospital based. We occasionally have orders for PT to do wound care
(usually very complex, requiring debridement) and we count the minutes they
spend doing the wound care, including whirlpool treatments. This was
really big a couple years ago, but now we have a wound care nurse from our wound
clinic who usually makes recommendations and does debridement. We never
had any problem with this - just make sure they document
well.
-----Original Message-----I am from hospital based SNF. I have a question regarding wound vac dressing changes for S/P wound debridement. If there's an order for physical therapist to do wound vac dressing changes, can I include the minutes for PT in section P? Because there's a plan in our unit to gieve the wound vac dressing changes to physical therapists if the minutes can be included. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
