Be very careful with accu-med. We have accu-med, it is better then 2 years ago when we first started using it, and now we are starting to use hand held palms to do mds. The biggest problem is it is a time consuming program, it takes up to 2-3 hours to input information in the medical records part for physicians orders, med sheets, activity, etc. It doesn't have a tickler file that is accurate, for the mds's. It still skips some of our res. If you can find an easier program, I would recomend getting it, unless you want to take 5 steps to accomplish 1-2 steps in the program. One other thing, it doesn't have a back up for the individual program. Would have been nice. 2 weeks ago, lost the whole program, facility had colorado back up, computer expert here, reinstalled the program with back up. But still lost 2 weeks worth of work. Took 2 weeks to get it all back in. Medical records is still puttting the residents back in the medical records part.
