Can they be copies of the originals or must they be the originals themselves?  I would think you would want to keep the MDSs for the first admission with the first chart.

I don't know what state you are in, but I am in Florida in a CCRC with lots of repeat admissions. Last year we were cited for not pulling forward previous MDS that were from admissions in the previous 15 monthes even though the resident had been discharged in between.
