One thing that we have been doing this past year or so is to look very closely at pain management with our dementia residents...it isn't always a factor in behaviors, but with a couple of our folks we were able to reduce or d/c psychotropics once we had a good pain management program for them. Good Luck with your project!!

I have a wonderful new project (should actually be fun). I am going to be looking at our resident on antipsychotic medications over the next 6 months to see who can be reduced and who will can be d/c'd. I will also be paying special attention to new admission who come in on them to see actually needs them and who the hospitals put on it to control the behavior there and never d/c'd it before they came to us. If anyone has any tracking tools or input for this study, please let me know. Thanks in advance,DavinaPS-I will still have to do my other 50 million tasks.
