Yes but my understanding from prior communications here is that it is just for Medicare+Choice coverage not all Medicare A. I am not that familiar with Medicare+Choice as we have never dealt with it here. I think it is managed care and since a majority of the local physicians here don’t participate in these types of plans we don’t see it. I was also under the impression the new ABN letters have to be in use by 10/04 for regular Med A. Am I wrong? I think I could use some clarification.

I saw it here, and the website where it is posted, unless I am totally missing something! This is what I saw: ""The 48 hour requirement has been in effect for Medicare + Choice organizations since January.go to www.cms.hhs.gov/medicare/bni/ and scroll down to Medicare + Choice for information. "" That IS what it means, isn't it? And the forms that are there. We're supposed to use them now, instead of what we were using up until now? To inform family/residents that their medicare coverage is ending? Thanks, Nancy
