[EMAIL PROTECTED] is correct.   If you hit reply (or replyall) to a message from cmdg,  your reply will go back out to the entire group.  As a general rule of thumb,  if the "to" address is set to [EMAIL PROTECTED] then everyone will get a copy of your message.

I use Microsoft Outlook and here's what I do when I want to "reply" to an individual:

-    If the person has included their email address in the content of the message,  I will highlight the email address and press Ctrl-C to copy it to my clipboard.
-    If the person hasn't included the email address,  I double click on the email message in the preview pane so it opens a new window showing the email message. In the full window, the "From" field will typically say something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] on behalf of [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or whoever elses email address) .  I will then double click on the persons address to open an additional window just showing that persons address.  From there I press Ctrl-C to copy the address to my clipboard.  Then click the "Cancel" button to close the popup window.

- Next, I'll click on the "reply" button and remove the [EMAIL PROTECTED] from the "to" field and press Ctrl-V to paste the persons email address.

It's important to remember to do that first, before you type your response.  I (and others) have on occasion "meant" to respond privately and accidently sent the message to the entire group.  That tends to be embarrasing.

Lastly,  it would be wonderful if everyone posting here would take the time to create a signature option in your email program that includes your email address.  It makes it much easier for folks to respond directly to you.  Once you setup a signature, it automatically inserts it in your emails.

Have a great weekend!

Regarding our list serve:  there are 2 buttons to the left of screen one says "reply" the other says "reply all".  On other sites and my own server of choice for e mail this means exactly what it says.  If you want to reply to everyone on discussion group you choose "reply all".  If you only want to reply to sender of e-mail you choose "reply".  Is this not the way cmdg works?
no, that is not correct
reply sends to the group
