The calculation looks at high risk and low risk residents who have a pressure ulcer.  Residents with pressure ulcers stage 1-4 are included in the numerator, and those are the residents who are included in the stratification.  Residents without pressure ulcers are not included in the stratification.

All residents on the most recent assessment are included in the denominator.

hello,

Can anyone tell me if hi &lo risk is only calculated on the residents that already have developed an ulcer? This stratification only shows up when resident has triggered in pressure area. QI does not reveal who's at high risk or not without this.
the only way to know is to determine if the resident meets the criteria yourself,
eg...malnutrition, ext A to transfer ect... am I way off base here, need to know what you think.

                                         thanks,
