many of our patients return from the hospital with pressure sores due to not being turned, etc. This is one of our biggest complaints - along with constipation. We are a hospital-based SNF and no matter how much we fuss or try to teach, the acute care nurses just don't focus on personal issues like skin, bowels, fall risk like a NH nurse does.

many elderly patients develop pressure ulcers after being admitted to a hospital-especially on the heels- it is very common for the elderly especially those who are confused or who are unable to call for assist-very, very common
And...acute hospital nurses are unaware of this potential?
