In some of the states, if it involves a lot of assessments, they will
"merge" the residents for you. The areas that MUST be corrected are:
SS#, Birthday, Sex. If not, it will set up a second person. There is
a report the state sends to you under "Validation Reports" on a monthly
basis. It's "Changes To Resident Identifiers" Check this monthly. If
someone is on there, you must send a correction.

We have to do them all. I just ran into the
same problem but with different type data entry because of switching to
a new software and people inputting info made several mistakes. It is
a pain but once it is corrected, shouldn't happen again.
our state RAI coordinator told me we have to do it for
all....per CMS

specific? When we have an error on a B day, MCR #/MCD # or SS#

completed, not all of the assessments. > ----- Original Message

about 15 birthdays. (Before I was employed there) I had to go back on
EVERY mds that had the wrong bday and fix it. Just as if I had made an
error on coding. Needless to say---the corrections were MANY MANY

MDS--so I had to correct every MDS done on that patient!!!!!
