To the MDS coordinator for the 200 bed facility. You did not mention who exactly completes the MDS itself. Does nursing complete the MDS itself? Do you? If nursing does it, do you then review it for accuracy? Then who inputs the mds into the computer? All of this takes a whole lot of time! You couldn't possibly do all that plus what you mentioned for a 200 bed facility. How about other facilities?

I am the MDS coordinator for 180 beds, as of Friday we had 95 Med A's. The rest LTC. The administrator just applied to have all 180 beds dually certified. There are 3 other nurses who do MDSs along with me. I do everything you mentioned below plus...(except for the dc/reentry forms and running LTC care mtg.) I am also responsible for 21 Med A bed assessments. The one possitive in all that? My day speeds by!Suzanne

I run team mtgs, weekly UR mtgs, do all mds schedules, certif forms, ck the tracking forms, make LPD calls, inservice on the mds, help with MDS completion if running late, print QI's for facility, open, close, lock and transmit all MDS's and in a nut shell everything. Please let me know what you are in charge of----I would appreciate your input. Thank you.
