I do notice that on the remote ccrma machine i have to sprout a tiny 
bit into the future or sbcl crashes:

* (sprout (process repeat 4 do (print (now)) wait .5)
          :at (+ (now) .1))
*
0.005528927
0.50558186
1.009634

this doesnt happen on my linux box, and im not sure what the issue is 
at this point.
