You know that I am in your corner with your unwillingness to have a BMT. I see no reason for them suggesting this at all. No No No !! I am confident that something might help. I have had a difficult year and finally, after 9 months of trying a variety of methods, I am feeling great!!(Hard to believe;)- never thought I would be saying this) Now, as to what I did. Can't really discuss all of it because I don't want to start any huge arguements - "unconventional" but it worked for me. I guess the most important thing that seemed to finally work was getting put on 400 mg. Celebrex in am and 200 mg. Celebrex pm with Flexeril (muscle relaxer) as needed. I also had a shot of Toridol which took the pain away immediately. It seemed to be the "break in the pain cycle" for me. I take my Gleevec after an early dinner - 4pm/5pm. I'm using lasix once or twice a week to eliminate fluid build up pressure. Also, just started a stretch/flexibility class that is making me feel better. Wasn't sure how I'd hold up but I'm actually amazing myself. I take 1 mg Ativan at night so I have 8 steady uninterrupted hours of sleep, too. I know, seems like a lot of drugs but it has made the world of difference. Oh - forgot my nightly dose of Paxil 20 mg. Regarding Psychiatrist, well I did enlist in counselling after 6 years of fighting this disease. Discussed pain management issues and dealing with CML. It did help. I only went for about 8 weeks but I do think it helped to get some of this anger off my mind. So, give it a try! You just never know. Hey - if you want to give me a call - call anytime. I'm here. Unemployed at the moment so anytime is just fine. Hope this helps. Dianne > Hey guys, this is lynne a.
