His platelets were at 1017 last Monday, so don't really know if the Agrylin is working or not, but it has broke them down before. I'm sure there are other factors at work here, too. We'll see Dr Sawyers on the 24th again, but hope to get the results of Bob's BMB (done on 12/20) before then.

The controversy surrounding Agrylin (at least for my doctor, in my
particular case) was whether it was worth the added risk of side
effects and possibly unpredictable results. Not to say that it
doesn't work, it was more of a risk/benefit analysis but again,
every case is different and in my case, although my platelets were
1.6 million, he was confident that they would come down on their own
without Agrylin, and they did. If they wouldn't have, it's very
possible he would have changed his tune and prescribed it.
