Jeanie,
Yes I recieved calcium during plateletpheresis but I always felt pretty good during the procedure and afterwards. Whereabouts do you live and when were you diagnosed? I am 26 and was diagnosed this past Sept. I am currently on 400mg Gleevec but I am in the process of discussing with my doc the option of increasing my Gleevec to 600mg/day because the recent studies have shown a faster, higher level of cytogenetic response to the higher dose. As well as a hopefully maintaining a high level of cytogenetic remission for a longer period of time.

I had a catherter put in my neck that stayed there until I left the hospital. They brought a machine in as the hospital itself didn't have one. Did they give you calcium during the pheresis? I felt really cold and shaking after the treatment each time. I had 4 treatments in all.
