Please remember that everyone That is just awful...I received much the same treatment, believe it or not, at the beginning of diagnosis because I REFUSED a BMT!  Friends said, "Well, if you are not going to even try to get cured......"  Gleevec was just around the corner then and I was holding onto the hope. Everyone thought I was nuts.  But I balked at the BMT...for me it was a gut reaction. I never look back and second guess my decision, but I have former "friends" who could not deal with my CML, the threat of "disease" nor the fact that I refused bmt.  They called me irrational and said I was doing the wrong thing.  Friends.  I think we all lose people when we step into this world.  It is scary and lonely sometimes, and I know it takes very special people to deal with it.   I don't think any cancer patient should have to deal with "hate" mail for any reason. It is stressful enough to be battling for life. BMT is such a personal decision, and as we all have found out, sharing "personal" info on e-groups is sometimes risky.  Katrina, I think you are right, we all find out who our " true friends" are when we are in these unique situations.
