Hi Fran, When we talk about belonging to the zero club, what we mean is that there are zero 'undetectable' bad cells. Even when someone shows no detectable bad cells, there are probably a few bad ones lurking around that our tests (with margins of error) are not finding. So, your doctor is technically correct about the 'big zero'. There are still some undetectable cells, which is why Gleevec is a 'maintenance' drug & we have to keep taking it daily.
But, it wouldn't sound as good if our club were named: 'Almost Zero' or 'Just about Zero', ey? Children are so resilient - blessings to your son. Regards, Gale Bacon dx'd 3/00 hydrea and interferon for 14 LONG months Gleevec 400mg daily since it became generally available Molecular remission (no detectable PH+ AND NO BCR-ABL t(9,22) translocation anymore!) --- In [email protected], "iamfranj1" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I was alittle baffled the other week when I took Jonathan in for his > count check and saw an asst Doc that we see on occasion.
