years to take care of myself, that others are always taking and I am
always giving. Well it is my turn now! I have studied all the
materials, listened to bunches of video tapes of trials and
conferences, received about 10 new books in the mail, and now I want
to know from others experiences. Receiving slight stomach upset,
other than that I think they got someones elses blood. Maybe that
is the denial part. I have a positive attitude, eating healthy, no
alcohol and praying. I would love to hear from you all. I have not
met anyone as of yet with my diagnosis and would love to har from
you.

Patty you didn't mention the mg of gleevec...i can assume it's
400mg. or your age.
i have been on gleevec 400mg for 3 yrs. I will have my 3 yr
aniversary on March 13th. 47 yr old male.
Your side effects are normal to the medication. Iam on the single
400mg pill now. My blood counts went to normal in the first 4-5 weeks
(2002),My 6 month check up bt FISH neg-CML. So on and so on..then i
was checked at my 2 yr aniversary by RT-PCR TEST(2004),still neg.cml.
Now..the tricky part of gleevec is when to take it..!
I tried every half dose...with or without meals...early
morning..late at night...( i stopped late at night due to the
rumbbling of my stomach).
Now the best thing you have done is contacted this group. A lady
told me(from this group)..in time you will adjust to the
medication..and i did. It took 3 years..but iam here answering your
questions. Your two other replys have great suggestions. i went to
http://www.newcmldrug.com to research gleevec.
When i had my first 6 month check up and the results were negitive
for cml..i started to forget to take gleevec. I didn't feel tired,or
ill at all.(side effct were still there from the drug).
Iam currently in molecular remission by RT-PCR TEST. Iam in a group
of gleevec users ( 10% ) who reach Molecular remission.
Welcome to the club,Mike
