Carol, When I heard that Rob was banned from the Yahoo site and could no longer moderate this group I took it upon myself to contact Yahoo to try and understand what happened.
It was a huge challenge to actually speak to someone at Yahoo, but I eventually got through. I expressed my great concern that this was a list of 1800 people who had a fatal disease and it was critical that this list continued to exist. I wanted to know the reason that Rob was kicked off Yahoo. They wouldn't tell me why, but they assured me that they do not ban anyone from Yahoo based on a complaint by another individual. The only reason that they will ban someone from Yahoo is if they themselves have evidence that the person violated their rules of conduct or terms of service.. I continued to argue that this was unfair and that it would be disastrous if this group was closed. They assured me that the group would not be shut down and would continue to exist even if there wasn't a moderator.
