Thank you to all who have given me some feedback about their side effects. It is so helpful to know I can ask a question and have people out there who care and who are willing to share information with me.
When my son first started on gleevec he had some leg pain but it went away and he has done really well on it for the two years he has taken it. He didn't have such a good test result, at his last visit, and so the onc. raised his dosage from 400 mg to 600 mg. My son says that the new pain began at about the time he increased his meds. My concern is that it is the cml and not the gleevec that is causing the problems. I have heard of people, and he did too, having leg pain but I haven't heard of it in their hips and pelvic region - thus my questions. On the positive side when he first began on gleevec his side effects did go away and I just hope that will happen this time. Thanks again for all of the response.
