As far as I know based on the newspaper article there have been no further
studies on the cancer and leukemia rate in Guam and the government
studies claim there is not a problem. The article mentioned other types of
cancer and leukemia. You might want to consider contacting the Guam newspaper
that is doing the investigative series and let them know about Jerome's
CML. The more cases that people are made aware of the more likely there will be
a more complete investigation.
This is the first time I'm posting . I love
reading all the posting and have learned so much from all the rest of you and
the CML news wire.
My husband (Jerome 64) was dx in Oct. 2004
with CML. He is on 400 mg of gleevec and has reached CCR in six months. He is
doing very well we think with the normal side effects of gleevec.
On Sat. Message 9: Rob, I would like to know if
Myelofibrosis is the same as fibrosis scaring of the marrow. When Jerome had
his last BMA in May his results were CCR but the Dr. said he had Fibrosis
Scaring of the marrow.What can you tell us about that? Thank You.
Sun. 26 message # 9 Guam: Jerome served in
the Navy on Guam for two years 1959 and 1960 and stayed in Navy housing.
Do you have any study's on the men that served ?How many have cml or other
