Hi Livia, I don't usually post on his CML group, as I belong to 2 other CML groups. But I wanted to say that I have the same thoughts about BMT. I am fortunate to have a sibling match and I am 31 years old. I thought I was going to have a BMT this summer, but I had such a great response to Gleevec (PCRU) that I postponed it. Now I wonder how long can I wait until the the youthfulness of my body starts going away. I still contemplate if I should just do it, but then I know that my relapse rate is less than 2 percent for the next few years.
I don't know too much about stem cell harvest. I just know that it is usually done if you don't have a bone marrow match. My doc mentioned that storage space is an issue so they don't do it for everyone. Take care, Susanna --- livia klescova <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I am not sure if I mentioned here that my sister is > only a half match. I was a little bit unhappy to > hear that.
